Around the time I was graduating, and around the time Anna was getting fed up with Pittsburgh's weather (wuss), we gave some thought to moving elsewhere. We first thought Germany,... no, I'm just kidding. I'd miss the Third Amendment too much - plus German music give me the creeps.
No, all kidding aside, we were thinking about heading south, and so I saw this as a massive opportunity to take my gal on a long, aimless roadtrip through all the South that I knew of.
We started with the birthplace of WKRP (you know where), hit the horses of Kentucky (none were harmed), drove through the splendors of Dollywood, hit up Hotlanta ("holla'"), saw the dock of Savanah, headed back to my alma mater Camp Lejeune, and raced as quickly as we could through the dark hills of West Virginia. Now that's not a drive you'll find on your Rand McNally Road Atlas, I guarantee.
